What a small business website costs in 2026: the one-off work, the platform over three years, and what to demand in a quote

Ask a web studio what a site costs and you get packages: Start, Business, Premium. They are hard to compare, because each holds a different set of work, and packages are often silent about the payments that follow launch. Below are verified prices for the part that can be checked, and a structure for the part you must demand from the contractor.

Two parts of the price

Every website costs two different sums.

  • One-off work: structure, design, building the site, copy and photos, connecting payments, delivery and analytics. A contractor or you yourself do it, and you pay once.
  • Recurring payments: the domain, hosting or a platform subscription, paid modules, support. They come every year for as long as the site runs.

A quote usually shows the first sum. The second appears after launch and keeps going for as long as the site lives. So the figure worth comparing is the total over three years.

We do not quote prices for the one-off work: there is no independent source of rates, and studio packages contain different things, so an average of them would say nothing. The recurring part can be checked — on tariff pages.

Recurring payments: what the tariffs say

Item Plan Price Worth knowing
.com.ua domain Hosting Ukraine UAH 720 to register, the same to renew At Imena.ua: UAH 738 a year
WordPress hosting Hosting Ukraine, "Shvydkyi" UAH 345/month, from UAH 226/month paid for 3 years 1 site, 10 GB, free SSL
Tilda builder Personal $10/month billed annually, $15 month to month 1 site; custom domain from this plan
Tilda builder Business $20/month billed annually, $25 month to month 5 sites and code export
Wix builder Light / Core / Business $17 / $29 / $39 a month billed annually USD prices for reference; the final price depends on the country; taxes excluded
Horoshop platform Basic UAH 288/month, annual billing only Up to 1,000 products and 1,000 orders a month; hosting and SSL included
Horoshop platform Standard UAH 816/month billed annually, UAH 849 month to month Up to 20,000 products, feeds to Rozetka and Google Shopping

Horoshop prices include VAT. Tilda and Wix charge in dollars, so the hryvnia amount depends on the exchange rate.

Two details matter more for the choice than price. First, Tilda offers code export only on the Business plan — on Personal the site lives on the platform alone. Second, Horoshop's professional design setup costs UAH 6,000 once on monthly plans and is included in annual plans from Standard up. In other words, the platform sells part of the "one-off work" itself, at a known price.

The platform over three years

Here is what the recurring part alone — platform or hosting plus a .com.ua domain — costs over 36 months. No one-off work, paid modules or support.

Platform and domain over three years, UAH
WordPress on hosting, paid for 3 yearsUAH 10,296
Horoshop Basic, annual billingUAH 12,528
WordPress on hosting, no discountUAH 14,580
Tilda Personal, annual billingUAH 18,353
Horoshop Standard, annual billingUAH 31,536

.com.ua domain at UAH 720 × 3 years in every option. "Shvydkyi" hosting: UAH 226 or 345 × 36 months. Horoshop: UAH 288 and 816 × 36. Tilda: $10 × 36 at the NBU rate on 15 October 2026 (UAH 44.9801 per dollar). Tariffs checked on 15 October 2026.

These options are not interchangeable. Horoshop is a ready-made online shop with payments, delivery and feeds. Tilda is a builder, most convenient for a landing page or a services site. WordPress on hosting paid for three years is the cheapest recurring option, but someone has to set up and maintain the theme, plugins, updates and backups, and that is one-off work or a monthly support fee.

The takeaway is simple: platforms differ by tens of thousands of hryvnias over three years. Know that before comparing studio quotes, because one studio builds on Tilda, another on WordPress, and their prices carry different futures.

Breakdown by type of site

Type of site What the one-off work covers Usually built on Recurring part
Landing page: one page for one service or product Copy, design of one page, enquiry form, analytics A builder Builder subscription + domain
Services site: 5–15 pages Structure, page template designs, copy for each service, contacts, map, basic SEO A builder or WordPress Subscription or hosting + domain
Online shop Catalogue and filters, product pages, payments, delivery, feeds for marketplaces and Google, product import A shop platform or WordPress with WooCommerce Subscription or hosting + domain + paid modules + payment fees
A site with non-standard logic: calculators, client account, accounting integrations Technical specification, development, testing Custom development or WordPress with custom work Hosting + domain + developer support

The lower the row, the larger the share of one-off work and the less you can compare quotes without a technical specification. For a shop, count payment fees separately — see the piece on online acquiring — and whether you need your own shop at all is the subject of Marketplace or your own online shop.

What to demand in a quote

An illustrative "Business package for 25 thousand" cannot be compared with a "Standard package for 40 thousand" until you can see what is in each. Ask every contractor for the same breakdown.

  1. Stages with hours. Structure, design, build, content, integrations, testing — as separate lines, with hours and a rate. That shows where the contractor saves.
  2. A list of pages and templates. How many unique layouts, how many pages the contractor fills, and how many are left to you.
  3. Who writes the copy and takes the photos. This is the most common hidden work: a "turnkey site" package may include no copy at all.
  4. The platform and every recurring payment. Platform name, plan, yearly price of the domain, hosting, paid themes and modules. The table above is a reference for checking.
  5. Whose name the domain, hosting and accounts are in. You should be the domain registrant and the owner of the platform account, Google Analytics and Search Console. The contractor gets access, not ownership.
  6. What happens if you leave the contractor. Whether the site can be exported: Tilda offers code export only on the Business plan; a WordPress site moves with its files and database.
  7. The number of revisions and what counts as one. Otherwise every change after design sign-off becomes a new invoice.
  8. Basic SEO. Page titles and descriptions, URLs, a sitemap, redirects from old addresses if a site already exists. Without redirects a new site can lose the old one's rankings.
  9. Analytics and goals. Who sets up measurement of enquiries and orders. How to do it end to end is covered in the piece on end-to-end analytics.
  10. Support after launch. The hourly rate, what a monthly fee includes, how fast a breakdown gets fixed.

Move the terms from this list into the contract. What it needs so that the contractor's work is accepted and paid without disputes is in the piece on a contract with a contractor.

Our position

Choose the platform first, then the contractor. The platform decides what you will pay for years and whether you can leave the contractor and keep the site. A builder is enough for a landing page or a services site, a ready-made platform for a shop of up to a thousand products, and custom development is justified only when you need a function that ready-made solutions lack. Compare quotes only by the same ten-point breakdown above.

This does not apply if the site is part of the product: a service, a client account, complex calculations or accounting integrations. Then the price is set by the technical specification, not the type of site, and you compare estimates against one specification, not packages.
