What AI costs for a team of ten: four sets of plans for 10 seats in hryvnias and the point where pay-per-request beats a subscription

The price of one seat is known to everyone. For a team of ten the question is different: which set to buy, what it comes to in hryvnias, and whether paying per request is cheaper than paying per seat. We took the plans from the official pages and did the arithmetic.

Four sets for ten seats

Vendors' pages list prices per seat. For a team of ten we multiply them by ten and add the hryvnia amount at the National Bank rate for 18 October 2026: UAH 44.8871 per dollar and UAH 50.3081 per euro. All sums are before any taxes that may be added.

Prices checked on 18 October 2026. Bar width is the share of the largest sum. The sets cannot be compared head-on: Google and Microsoft sell mail, storage and office apps together with the assistant.

Where the numbers come from:

  • ChatGPT Business. Pricing page: a standard seat is $20 a month on annual billing and $25 on monthly billing; for teams of 2 to 200 people; "No training on your business data" by default.
  • Claude Team. Anthropic pricing page: the same $20 and $25 for a standard seat, for teams of 2 to 150 people, "No model training on your content by default".
  • Google Workspace. The pricing page shows euros. Starter is €6.80 and Standard is €13.60 per user per month; new customers get 10% off for 12 months on the first 20 users (€6.12 and €12.24). We could not read the price of the flexible plan without an annual commitment, so it is not given here.
  • Microsoft. Copilot for business page: the Microsoft 365 Copilot Business add-on is $21 per user per month on annual billing; a discount to $18 runs from 1 July to 31 December 2026, for the first year only and only for existing customers with an eligible Business plan. The add-on needs a separate licence for a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan. Business Standard with Copilot is $23.50, Business Premium with Copilot is $32.

What the price does not show

Google and Microsoft sell more than an assistant. Business Standard at Google is mail on your own domain, 2 TB of storage and video meetings. If the team already pays for these suites, the assistant comes at the difference between plans. If not, comparing €13.60 with $20 is not like for like: you are buying a different product. A note on Starter: according to Google's table, Gemini in Docs and Sheets is not supported on it, while Gmail has it.

Data terms differ. ChatGPT Business and Claude Team state in their descriptions that your data is not used for training by default. On Google's pricing page we found only the general "Enterprise-grade security and privacy"; the exact terms on training must be read in Google's documentation, which we did not check. What may be pasted into an assistant is covered in the article on data for an AI assistant.

Exchange rate and taxes. The hryvnia sum depends on the rate on the day of payment. Vendors state that prices are shown before applicable taxes.

Not everyone needs the same seat

Both ChatGPT Business and Claude Team sell two kinds of seat that can be mixed in one team. A premium seat costs $100 a month on annual billing and $125 on monthly billing, and by Anthropic's description gives five times the usage of a standard seat.

Team of 10Annual billingMonthly billing
10 standard seats$200 (UAH 8,977)$250 (UAH 11,222)
7 standard and 3 premium$440 (UAH 19,750)$550 (UAH 24,688)
10 premium seats$1,000 (UAH 44,887)$1,250 (UAH 56,109)

The gap between the first and last rows is fivefold. So "what does AI cost for ten people" has no meaning without an answer to "who among them uses it for hours every day": premium is for people who hit the limits of a standard seat, not for the whole team.

When to pay per request

Pay-per-request (API) means you pay for the number of tokens processed. A token is roughly a part of a word. Prices come from the vendors' pages.

ModelInput per 1M tokensOutput per 1M tokensCost of a 2,000 + 500 token request
Claude Haiku 5.5$0.10$0.50$0.00045
Claude Sonnet 5.5$2$10$0.009
Claude Opus 5.5$4$20$0.018
Claude Fable 5.1$10$50$0.045
OpenAI gpt-6-luna$0.10$0.50$0.00045
OpenAI gpt-6.1-sol$2$10$0.009
OpenAI gpt-6-astra$10$50$0.045

These are the current models from the Anthropic and OpenAI pages on 18 October 2026, standard mode. For Haiku 5.5 the price shown is for prompts up to 100 thousand tokens; for longer prompts it is higher. Older models are not in the table. OpenAI also lists gpt-5.6-sol at $4 / $20 with a promotional price available at least until 21 November 2026; we do not count it here. Anthropic separately warns that models 4.7 and newer produce about 30% more tokens for the same text, so compare tokens across vendors and model generations with care.

The assumed request in the table is 2,000 input tokens (a question and a document) and 500 output tokens. This is our assumption, not a measured average: in long conversations and with attached files the input grows and the break-even point moves down.

A request cost of $0.009 on a $2 / $10 model means a $25 seat equals 25 ÷ 0.009 ≈ 2,778 requests a month, about 126 requests per working day over 22 working days. For $20 it is 2,222 requests, about 101 a day. For $4 / $20 models the point is half as high, for $10 / $50 it is five times lower: 556 requests a month, about 25 a day.

A calculation for 8,800 requests

A conditional example; substitute your own numbers. Ten people make 40 requests per working day, 22 days a month, 8,800 requests in all, each 2,000 + 500 tokens.

ModelPer request, per monthIn hryvniasAgainst 10 seats at $250
Haiku 5.5 or gpt-6-luna$3.96UAH 17863 times cheaper
Sonnet 5.5 or gpt-6.1-sol$79.20UAH 3,5553.2 times cheaper
Opus 5.5$158.40UAH 7,1101.6 times cheaper
Fable 5.1 or gpt-6-astra$396UAH 17,7751.6 times more expensive

The table shows that the model and the volume decide, not the brand. But it says nothing about what you get for the money. A ChatGPT Business or Claude Team seat is a ready chat with attachments, projects, memory, shared access and an admin console. The API is only an answer to a request. For ten people to use the API you need an interface: a ready application with a key, or an automation. The cost of setting up and maintaining it is not in the calculation, and in a small team it is usually what eats the difference. On automation without a programmer see the article on automation services.

If you want the assistant to work inside your process (handling enquiries, sorting emails), that is no longer "seats for people" but automation, and it has to be costed differently.

Which set to choose

Choosing a set for a team of ten
  1. Does the team already pay for Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?Then the assistant is partly in your suite already, or is added to it without a new account and new mail. Yes → first compare built-in Gemini or Copilot with a separate seat
  2. Do fewer than half the team use an assistant daily?Paying for ten seats when four people work is the most expensive mistake in the table above. Yes → buy seats for those who use it, minimum 2 (as stated on the ChatGPT Business and Claude Team pages)
  3. Do some people hit the limits of a standard seat? These are usually people who work with long documents, code or analysis all day. Yes → a premium seat for them only, the rest stay on standard
  4. Is there someone to build and maintain an interface over the API?Without that person, pay-per-request is a discount you cannot collect. No → seats; Yes → compare with the formula above on your own volume

First step for one week: a trial month for three

Do not buy ten seats at once.

  1. Pick three people with different tasks: a letter to a client, a spreadsheet, a document. The test of assistants on five Ukrainian business tasks helps to choose which one suits better.
  2. Buy three standard seats on monthly billing: $75 (UAH 3,367). It costs more than a seat on a yearly plan, but you do not sign up for 12 months blind.
  3. After a month, count how many hours each person actually saved. Conditionally: if an hour of an employee's work costs UAH 400, a $25 seat (UAH 1,122) pays back when it saves 2.8 hours a month.
  4. Add seats for those who reached the limit, and move to annual billing once the set of users settles.

Our position

For a team of ten where at least half use an assistant daily, we would take standard ChatGPT Business or Claude Team seats and not confuse them with Google and Microsoft suites: those are worth attention only when the team already pays for mail and office apps. Pay-per-request is worth costing when you plan to build an automation, or when users would make fewer than about a hundred requests a day on a $2 / $10 model and someone can maintain the interface.

The position does not hold if the company already has a corporate agreement with a vendor at different prices (count by the contract), if you need Enterprise-plan features or data-location requirements that our tables do not cover, and if you need an assistant inside a product for customers rather than for employees.

Checked on 18 October 2026 on the pricing pages of chatgpt.com/pricing (Business tab), claude.com/pricing (Team tab), workspace.google.com/pricing, microsoft.com (Copilot for business page) and the Anthropic and OpenAI API pricing pages; exchange rate — National Bank of Ukraine for 18 October 2026 (USD 44.8871, EUR 50.3081).
